The CEWE PHOTOBOOK is available in different sizes and designs.
On the home page select your desired format.
You have the choice to use either the CEWE PHOTOBOOK Assistant or create the CEWE PHOTOBOOK manually.
The assistant will help you to distribute your photos in the book. You have full control with the required number of pages and the style of your CEWE PHOTOBOOK. The wizard organises your photos either by file name or date. If you choose to sort by date, the Assistant will arrange your experiences based on when they were taken, ie breakfast with friends can be found on the one hand, the party in the evening starts correctly with the next page, so try not to mix of events happening. In this way you get a very good foundation for your CEWE PHOTOBOOK. Or you can choose to sort your photos by file name. Here again, the will arrange your photos based on the order of the file name.
Once the Assistant has organised all of your images, in the editor you can then add text, change the page layout, enlarge or reduce any of the images or even add or remove images. You can do any amount of editing even if you choose to the Assistant.
You can also start the CEWE PHOTOBOOK Assistant multiple times in order to find the best settings for you or add additional pages (also using other styles).
For more information about working with the CEWE PHOTOBOOK Assistant, see the chapter "The CEWE PHOTOBOOK Assistant".
If you always want to make your CEWE PHOTOBOOK manually, you can permanently turn off the automatic start of the Assistant in the "Options". In the “General” section under “Automatic selection” untick the box that says “Start the CEWE PHOTOBOOK Assistant automatically”. This way, on startup you can go straight to creating your CEWE PHOTOBOOK from scratch where an empty book will be displayed with the default page layout. You also have the option to open a previously saved CEWE PHOTOBOOK for further editing or viewing by going to “Open” on the top menu bar.
A CEWE PHOTOBOOK always consists of a cover, the first and the last content page (single sided pages) and the other content pages (double-sided pages).
The cover is the front and back of a CEWE PHOTOBOOK.
Covers made of synthetic leather or linen are not printed on and you can only choose the colour of the material. The printable covers (hard and soft cover) can only be personalised on the outside as the inside of the covers white.
On the back of the printed covers have a barcode, which is essential in the production and delivery of the CEWE PHOTOBOOK and therefore it cannot be removed or edited.
On the spine is a text field into which you can enter a book title, preferably the same title as on the front. However, in the booklets, the option of adding text to the spine is not available as we use a stable to bind the book.
Content pages are displayed and edited as double page spreads in the workspace as they form a visual unit when opened. Half of the double page spread for the first and last pages is left empty as it is used as the inside page of the binder.
Only the first and last pages of one half of the double page must remain empty, since they are used as the inner side of the cover or as a separator page for the cover.
This restriction also applies for technical reasons to booklets which do not have a glued binder. A CEWE PHOTOBOOK page can have a background, a page layout, photos with and without masks or frames, clipart, and text fields.
Bottom left of the program you choose which type of item you want to insert.
The choices are:
First, select a background for your current CEWE PHOTOBOOK page by simply dragging it with the mouse to the corresponding page. A double click on the thumbnail of the background sets it over the entire double page. Alternatively use the buttons at the bottom of the selection area.
The same applies to the page layouts. They are inserted with the same functions as the background.
Dragging pictures with the mouse on the respective frame layout of the page layout or on a blank page .
|
Tip: If you drag an image to an empty space (where there is no layout frame), the editor automatically generates a layout frame to match the image. If you start by deleting all the layout frames added to the CEWE PHOTOBOOK pages by default, you can freely drag your images onto the photo book pages where you can then position them. |
Clipart is simply dragged onto the workspace (not into a layout frame). Clipart can be adjusted in position, size and rotation.
You can use the mouse to drag an image mask onto a layout frame for an image. This makes part of the image transparent and applies a new external shape to the image. In addition, a frame or mask can be decorated with Clipart.
All of the double page spreads in the CEWE PHOTOBOOK, including the cover, are displayed as thumbnails in the page selection area for navigation purposes and to give you a better overview.
The scroll bar below the storyboard moves the thumbnails to the right and left. Clicking a thumbnail opens the corresponding page in the workspace.
You can change the page order by clicking the thumbnail for the page in question, holding down the left mouse button, and dragging the thumbnail to the required position in the page selection area.
The toolbar contains the most important tools or commands, which you can apply to an object selected in the product editor, or which let you insert a new object.
Pay attention to the tooltips - they are listed and described in the "Toolbar" section.
All the functions / tools that you can apply to the selected object are additionally accessible via the context menu which appears when you right-click the editor or the selected object.
This displays the photo book page currently selected in the page selection area for editing. Just like in a painting program or word processor, you can use the templates in the object browser to create your CEWE PHOTOBOOK.
In the object browser you can select a background for each photo book page (refer to the section "Working with Backgrounds"), define a layout, and of course add images and text. Images and text always occupy a square area (layout frame) of the book; you can move or scale this area. You can click any layout frame with the mouse to change it.
You can select multiple areas by dragging a frame around them with the mouse. This does not work if the selected layout frame (or text fields) are placed on one of your own photos which you are using as a background. (Refer to the section "Working with Layouts".)
In the view options you will find tools to control the view of the page (zoom, preview, rotate view) next to the product characteristics and the order button ("basket").
See the chapter "View Options".
